The George Group of Colleges, Unit of George Telegraph group is a 103-year-old group of premier academic and research institutions, offering quality education to thousands of career-seekers through varied programs. In 2020, the George Group of Colleges launched its new campus, The Gayatri Chetna Foundation at Narendrapur. The Gayatri Chetna Foundation campus is under CCPTR (Centre for Collaborative Programs, Training and Research) MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), formerly known as WBUT (West Bengal University of Technology), West Bengal. It comprises of sprawling green campus over 5 acres of land. At this institution, students can hope to obtain industry-specific training that will enhance their abilities and open the doors to myriad career opportunities. The classrooms are well equipped for modern day teaching and has state of the art technology. The classrooms and laboratories provide a comfortable and ergonomic learning environment, with scientific lighting and other facilities. There is a variety of teaching aids such as whiteboards, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, CD players and multimedia personal computers.
The campus consists of a library which is a reservoir of various books on different branches of psychology namely Cognitive Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Personality, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Research Methodology, Social Psychology, Gender Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Statistics and others. It is a store house of text books, reference books and industry journals. The College has e-library systems for every student. The stock of books and periodicals are regularly updated to empower our students and teachers in their research work.

Mental disorders are among the leading causes of non-fatal disease burden in India. Over 90 million Indians, or 7.5 percent of the country’s population of 1.3 billion, suffer from some form of mental disorder, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to the National Mental Health Survey (NMHS) of 2018, the treatment gap of any mental disorder in India was reported to be as high as 83%. Looking at the present need for mental health practitioners, the Department of Clinical Psychology, The Gayatri Chetna Foundation has started the following Courses which aims to train professionals to provide services in the field of mental health.
